Hobie befriends a boy who so wants his father’s attention that he’ll risk his life bodysurfing a dangerous rock formation known as “The Shredder.” Meanwhile, Caroline encourages an injured jockey to race once more

  • Writer and producer Deborah Schwartz appears in this episode during the horse race on the beach.
  • Kent Desormeaux, who played Corey is an actual horse jockey. He holds the U.S. World Record for most wins in a single year, 598 in 1989. He was inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in 2004. He has won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes three times each.
