While he takes his duties in law enforcement seriously, he is generally a easygoing man. One episode had him attempting to get certified as a mounted policeman in an effort to reduce environmental impact on the beach. Another episode had Matt Brody purchase a motorcycle, but Ellerbee impounds its (albeit regretfully), saying he ran a check of the motorcycle's VIN and it was flagged as stolen property.
