Michael "Newmie" Newman is a fictional character from the popular American television show Baywatch. He was portrayed by actor and real life lifeguard Michael Newman.
Physical Appearance
Tall, muscular and bodes a mustache. He's physically fit, and about the same height as David Hasselhoff
Personality
Newmie is the strong longest serving member of the lifeguard team who is always quick to spring into action when someone's life is hanging in the balance. He's very laid back, and is somewhat of a ladies man. He and Mitch often double date or compete for women.

Newman is promoted to a series regular for the first time. He appears in the opening credits He spends most of the season as a veteran life guard, often working with with Mitch Buchanan as well as being best friends with Cody Madison.

Trivia
Apart from Mitch, Newmie is the only other character to appear in every season of the first official series of Baywatch.
