On a day off, Ryan drags Mitch to a fortune-telling booth at the Malibu pier, where an Indian guide sends them into an eerie tunnel from which Mitch and Ryan emerge 20 years in the future to watch helplessly at their future lives.

- In Frozen Out of Time, Ryan expresses interest in visiting a mysterious vortex with Mitch. This has absolutely nothing to do with the vortex they actually visit in The Vortex. The Baywatch Nights writers just apparently like vortexes.
